Hurtmold is a Brazilian post-rock/math rock band. It was formed in 1998 in the city of São Paulo, having as its members Maurício Takara (drums, vibraphone, trumpet), Guilherme Granado (keyboard, vibraphone, melodica), Marcos Gerez (bass), Mário Cappi (guitar), and Fernando Cappi (guitar). In 2003, Rogério Martins (percussion and clarinet) joined the group.
The band is known for a vigorous post-rock sound, with a lot of percussion, and diverse influences that go from jazz, through minimalism, punk rock, North American funk, electronic music, to regional folkloric rhythms of Brazilian music. Another feature of Hurtmold is the fact that its members swap instruments during live performances.
