Maria Madalena Correia do Nascimento, known as Lia de (from) Itamaracá (Itamaracá, January 12, 1944), is a Brazilian dancer, songwriter and Ciranda singer. She is renowned as the most important Cirandeira in Brazil.
Ciranda is a traditional game involving dance, music and singing, originally from the states of Paraíba and Pernambuco. In Paraíba there are great Ciranda masters such as Penha Cirandeira, Tina, Dona Edite, Cida, Vó Mera, Mestre Cícero, Mestre Mané Baixinho (in memory), Odete de Pilar, among others. In Pernambuco some great references are Mestre Baracho, Lia de Itamaracá, and Mestre Anderson Miguel.
